Dominique & Lucas Haasz

Claudia Gruss has been cultivating wine in the Grand Cru Kirchberg de Barr and the Clos Gaensbroennel since 1986. Dominique Haasz joined the estate in 1996 and now works with their son Lucas. He hopes to one day take over the winery.

They own 148 acres of Gewurztraminer and 23 acres of Pinot Gris in the Clos Gaensbrœnnel, as well as 60 acres of Gewurztraminer Late harvest, 90 hectares of Gewurztraminer Grand Cru and 30 acres of Riesling Grand Cru in the Kirchberg de Barr region.

THE CLOS GAENSBRŒNNEL, A WINE ESTATE WITH CHARACTER

The Grand Cru Kirchberg de Barr and the Clos Gaensbrœnnel are characterized by strong, rich clay soils, and are particularly suitable for growing Gewurztraminer grapes. In the mouth, these wines offer a unique texture that can’t be found in other wines. This is why we are so proud to work this land.

THE CLOS GAENSBRŒNNEL, MY LITTLE TREASURE

We put lots of love into our vines. We have a special relationship with the Clos Gaensbrœnnel plots–they’re our little treasures, our golden gems.

MY FAVORITE WINE
